Harrigan Development Services is owned by Andy Harrigan who holds a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has a wide range of experiences providing services to individuals with disabilities.
Andy has surrounded himself with a team of job developers, job coaches, and trainers who are all passionate and committed to creating win-win employment situations for both our individual clients and local businesses that hire through our organization. The HDS team is committed to opening the eyes of local businesses to this truly diverse and highly skilled workforce.
Laurie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She practiced for over 20 years in different nursing environments, including hospital and clinic settings, and several years as a school nurse at a local University. She then transitioned into serving as a para-professional in the cognitively disabled classroom at Cedarburg High School.
At the high school, Laurie worked with a number of students that required job coaching. The students worked at a variety of locations within the school and in the community.
Laurie's well-rounded background makes her perfectly-suited to work as an Employment Consultant at Harrigan Development Services.
Shawn Brophy is a former reporter and radio news anchor, and was a regional host for NPR's "Morning Edition." He studied English at the University of Iowa, including three invitations to the prestigious Iowa Writer's Workshop (Poetry). Shawn has also helped manage business education workshops for Andersen Worldwide, including business English immersion training.
He has lived in Cedarburg for eleven years, and roots for the Pittsburgh Steelers against all comers--except, of course, Green Bay.
June Byrne earned a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Behavioral Disabilities and a MS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Educational Psychology. June worked as a special education teacher for the Cedarburg School district for over 30 years. She taught students with a variety of needs including those having cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Most recently June filled the role of Program Support Teacher for students with Autism Spectrum disorders.
Given her experience, passion, and life-long focus in working with individuals with unique needs, June is dedicated to helping our clients develop the skills and building blocks necessary to achieve vocational success and satisfaction.
Annette DiZinno graduated with a degree in Broadcasting from Arizona State University. Throughout her professional career she has worked in business development, outside sales and community outreach in the fields of broadcasting, pharmaceutical and higher education. Most recently, Annette worked at Cardinal Stritch University representing the adult degree programs for corporate partnerships and recruiting.
Annette is passionate about developing relationships and helping individuals reach their potentials though education and training.
Brian Flynn, MSW, CAPSW
Director of Supportive Services
Brian is a Masters level social worker (MSW), a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker (CAPSW), and holds certificates in Childhood and Adolescence Studies and Youth Work.
For the past 15 years Brian has advocated for the self-determination, prevention and resolution of contemporary social problems, particularly for at-risk populations. His previous experience has been working in diverse social welfare settings with adolescents & young adults, many of whom struggle on a daily basis with developmental & other bio-psychosocial problems. His professional experience has fostered a unique understanding of the challenges & needs facing these individuals.
Brian’s style and approach to helping people is compassionate, positive, and caring. He is committed to protecting the rights and dignity of those he serves. He currently provides clinical counseling, coaching and supportive services to transitional young adults in the Greater Milwaukee area.
Zach Freding graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. In addition for his love of Architecture Zach thoroughly enjoys working with children and young adults and has experience as a camp counselor, soccer coach, youth group leader, and day care teacher.
At Harrigan Development Services Zach is involved in goal focused mentoring, job coaching, and academic coaching.
Laura Harrigan, a job developer and job coach for Harrigan Development Services, holds a bachelor's degree in Special Education from UW-Eau Claire.
For the past 15 years she has worked as a resource room teacher of students with learning disabilities. That experience has provided her with the insight, compassion and enthusiasm necessary in working with our clients.
The process of job development, finding employment opportunities and securing the right fit for both an employer and a client is what Laura truly enjoys.
Angie works as a job coach, mentor and group facilitator for Harrigan Development Services. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College. Angie is empathetic, caring and has always had a passion for helping people, these qualities give her the tools to provide strength-based service for anyone she is paired with.
Ellen McKay has her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She has 32 years of teaching experience working with students with various disabilities.
Ellen retired from the Mequon-Thiensville School District after teaching at Homestead High School for 25 years. Her professional, educational, experience was to teach academic, functional, and vocational skills to assist students with special needs transition into their community as productive members of society.
Jada graduated from Cardinal Stritch College in 1994 with a BA in Sociology and a background in Geriatrics. She worked at Bell Therapy for four years, which was a work program for individuals with cognitive disabilities as well as behavior problems.
Jada also worked at the group homes assisting with daily living skills and engaging residents in the community. She also currently volunteers at the Friendship Circle.
Bob has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing management, training development, digital electronics and computer programming. His work at Harrigan Development will focus on Basic Computer Training Programs tailored to the individual and job development.
Many years of mentoring and working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, skill levels and talents provides Bob the knowledge required to assist job seekers in reaching their goals.
Cheri comes to HDS with 13 + years in case management experience for individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disablities, autism and various learning disabilities. She has worked in case management in day services programs, group homes, adults in independent apartment living and adult foster home programs.
She also has 6+ years working with the senior citizen population in setting up home care, rehabilitation and hospice services.
Cheri's role is to help implement, coordinate and monitor support services for her clients. A special aspect of her work is to be an advocate and a liasion/communicator to her clients and their families.
Mary Pat Thompson
Mary Pat Thompson holds a Masters Degree in Education. Mary Pat served students in the Wisconsin Technical College System for over twenty five years as a Career Instructor. She assisted students with career assessment, selection, job seeking skills and job placement.
She is passionate about connecting people to meaningful careers, and feels her skill set fits ideally as a Job Developer with Harrigan Development Services.
Teri graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. After teaching middle school for one year, she then transitioned into the computer software industry where she worked for various companies as a Software Analyst. She also worked for 5 years as an Office Manager and Financial Secretary at a private school in Madison, where she developed an interest in financial software and reporting. Most recently Teri worked as a Global Account Analyst as well as an Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Global Sales at ManpowerGroup.
Teri’s well-rounded background in computer software and financial reporting makes her perfectly suited to handle the administrative and financial requirements of Harrigan Development Services.
